Truro
The city is a hive of entertainment and culture. The Hall for Cornwall wows audiences with dazzling west-end shows, popular music performers, and hilariously funny comedians; the Old Bakery Studios hosts fabulous alternative arts acts; and the city’s art galleries showcase contemporary craft and modern British art.
Whilst it may be a small city, it boasts an abundance of outdoor space. The parks offer quiet spots to relax in the sun and dine alfresco, and the leafy woodlands are a peaceful place for a stroll in the fresh air. Great for shopping with a mix of chains and artisan stores.
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary
This is one we used to do every time we visited. Perched on a hill above the Helford River it’s a gorgeous location a lovely day out. Wander around the various seal enclosures whilst enjoying the view. There are penguins, donkeys and other small animals to see. Whilst this is certainly not the most modern place- it is a nice way to spend a day. It is based in Gweek - a short drive away.
St Ives
About an hours drive away this infamous Cornish bay is bustling and beautiful. Home to the Tate Modern and loads of cool art shops. Gets very busy in summer!
